I am all about keeping things simple and easy and here are 3 ways to improve your immune system:
1.) 𝗟𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗟𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹: Try to figure out what works best for helping you to lower your stress levels. Try guided meditation, yoga, acupuncture/herbs, exercise, deep breathing, etc. Increased stress levels have been shown to lower our immune system. In Chinese Medicine we have many ways to help patients manage their stress levels through acupuncture, herbs and lifestyle changes.
2.) 𝗥𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗲 𝗔𝗱𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝗦𝘂𝗴𝗮𝗿 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲: Sugar spikes have been shown to lower your immune system by reducing the ability of your white blood cell function- which are important to fight off illnesses. These effects can last up to 5 hours after consumption!3.) 𝗚𝗲𝘁 𝗘𝗻𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝘁: For sleep, it also depends on the person as far as how many hours that you need. Anywhere from 6-10 hours of sleep per night are needed. Now, if you sleep and don’t feel like you did, that can be considered a form of insomnia as well. You need restful sleep, in order to help keep your immune system strong. Acupuncture and herbs also offer a natural way to increase your quality of sleep, if this is an issue for you. If your pain is keeping you up at night, we can also help with that too!
I suggest starting with one thing first, making small changes, see how you are feeling and continue to make positive changes for your health. For example, cutting out sugar may seem crazy! So why not start with cutting out drinking sodas or by only having that dessert 1x a week instead of 3x.
