There is a negative stigma attached to mental health issues and we can all change this through education and supporting our loved ones who experience these issues.
A mental illness is an illness of the brain that interrupts thinking, behavior, mood or energy that tends to make it more difficult to deal with the ordinary activities of daily living.
These illnesses can vary and range, depending on which ones are present.
In order to help others with these issues, we can listen attentively, show them respect and compassion and we can refer them to a mental health care professional that we trust.
Sometimes we can be limited in the actual amount of help that we can provide as a concerned friend or family member but sometimes sending the person to the right healthcare professional, can make a huge difference.
We can’t force anyone to do anything but we still can support the ones that we love and try to help them however we can.
Acupuncture can help with certain aspects of mental health. It can help with reducing stress, anxiety, increasing the quality of sleep manage mood issues and decrease depression.
If you already on medications for mental health issues, we will never advise you otherwise, as that is not what we do. We can help to work with what you are already doing and supplement that with natural therapies.
We can prescribe certain herbs to help, administer ear acupuncture seeds and refer out to other health professionals, if needed.
